About Me

Hi! My name is Gretchen and I am a Minnesota-native, Tennessee-transplant.  I love to travel, read, and all things music.  I can be bribed with tacos and chocolate, and am always up for an adventure.

My desire for travel was sparked when my parents decided to take my brothers and I to all 48 continental states before I graduated high school.  The mission was completed by the time I was 17, and I haven't wanted to stop exploring since.  The need for adventure grew exponentially during my study abroad student teaching experience in Costa Rica my senior year of college in 2014.  By then I had decided I wanted to move away from my home state after graduation and see what else the world had to offer me.  I now live in Tennessee just north of Nashville where I teach fifth grade!

I began this blog as a way to share my Costa Rican experiences with my family and friends as I was abroad and found that I enjoyed having a way to record my memories and experiences enough to want to continue it. For now, this blog exists to continue to share my experiences with family, friends, and anyone else who stumbles upon it in hopes to inspire the adventurous spirit in others.

Welcome to my never-ending adventures!

"Wake up
Stand up and show em what you’re made of.

Are you afraid to dream
Because of what the world has done to you?
Are you afraid to walk out your front door?
Hey dreamer, what are you waiting for?"
